WHAT IS GATHERED IN IS NAME?:
Gathered In His Name is not a "church", but those involved are part of the larger universal Church, the ekklesia comprised of all believers who gather together in Jesus' name around the world.

Gathered In His Name is not an incorporated non-profit organization, but those involved are part of the organism of "living stones" being assembled together by God into a temple for his habitation, the Body of Christ.

Gathered In His Name is not a movement, but those involved are moved by the Holy Spirit to be actively fulfilling the Great Commission to take the Good News of Jesus Christ into every corner of our world.

Gathered In His Name does not have any membership, but those involved are individually members of every other brother and sister in Christ, joined to Jesus and everyone who calls on his name.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF GATHERED IN HIS NAME?:
The purpose of Gathered In His Name is to encourage all believers to embrace the truth that Jesus is present in every gathering, large or small, and therefore to seek out and meet with other Christians often for prayer, worship, meals, ministry, and outreach. The main focus of Gathered In His Name is to promote the realization of Church everywhere believers go, at work, school, the market, parks, bus stops, coffee shops, on commuter trains - everywhere and anywhere we meet other Christians. The purpose of Gathered In His Name is not necessarily to start or plant new churches, but to recognize the existence of the ever present Church in everyday places - everyday of the week.

SOME CORE VALUES:
- We strive to bring glory to God alone and not ourselves - "Soli Deo Gloria".

- Jesus Christ is central, all other doctrines and debates are expendable because salvation is through Christ alone - "Sola Christo".

- The Bible is our only authority in matters of doctrine and practice, "Sola Scriptura".

- We are saved by grace alone - "Sola Gratia", through faith and not works - "Sola Fide".

- We seek simplicity in all we do.

- No Buildings, No Budgets, No Big Shots, No Control, No Glory, No Empire Building.

- We are "organized" around the "organic"; fellowships that are based, grown, and spread through relationships not programs.

- Small, open, participatory gatherings are encouraged.

- We are passionate about the Bride of Christ, wherever it is found and however it is expressed.

- We are all members of the priesthood of believers.

ABOUT LEADERS:
Leadership is functional, not positional. Leaders are simply servants who lead by example following the example of the Servant Christ. They are spiritual moms and dads, "elders" who are simply "older" in the faith and therefore possess mature Christ-like qualities as they "oversee" the flock of God.

ABOUT MONEY AND GIVING:
Giving is a personal matter and each one must give where and how God directs them. Because this is not an incorporated ministry or church it doesn't have a non-profit status, and because there is no budget or any expenses, there is never any money collected. Donations are NOT accepted, tax exempt or otherwise! This frees each believer to accept his or her own responsibility as a steward of God's provisions and to be generous to whomever God puts on their hearts.
